Public Participation National Growth Fund Round 2 Guide

This content applies specifically to South Korea.

If you actually invested in the first offering, subscription to Round 2 is restricted. In South Korea, the Public Participation National Growth Fund's second offering runs from September 30 to October 15, 2026, on a first-come, first-served basis. Sales may end earlier if fully subscribed.

Plan around the five-year commitment

Set aside only money that can remain invested for 5 years: early redemption is prohibited. Government funding absorbs losses first under the stated structure, but principal is not guaranteed. Check the prospectus for loss risks, management fees and commissions before choosing an amount.

For tax benefits, use a dedicated account and meet its requirements. A general account allows subscription without those benefits.

Keep tax deductions separate from cash returns

Use two separate checks when weighing the tax benefit: how much income is deducted, and how much tax that actually saves. An eligible KRW 50 million investment produces a KRW 16 million income deduction; it does not produce a KRW 16 million cash refund. Actual savings depend on the tax base and other deductions.

Likewise, treat the 9.9% dividend-income tax rate, including local tax, as a tax figure, not an investment return. It applies for up to 5 years from the investment date.

Check account history and age requirements

If you only opened an account in the first offering without actually investing, subscription to Round 2 remains possible. For a dedicated account, the minimum age is 19, or 15 with earned income. Being subject to comprehensive taxation on financial income even once from 2023 through 2025 restricts opening that account.

Before applying, check whether the chosen distributor supports simplified income verification for the intended subscription channel. After subscribing, confirm that the investment was completed: opening an account alone is insufficient. Use the checklist in the original article on Injoys to prepare.
