Cash Receipt Phone Number Registration Guide

Receiving cash receipts through a phone number is not enough to claim an income deduction: you must register that number in Hometax, the tax service portal. Check the transaction history the day after registration to see whether the receipts appear.

Register the number, then check the deduction

In Hometax, open the cash receipt section for employees and consumers, then the menu for managing issuance methods, meaning the numbers or cards used to identify receipts. Check the phone number used at payment and register or correct it.

Under the law effective September 18, 2026, general cash receipt spending has a 30% income deduction rate, compared with 15% for general credit card spending. Combined annual eligible spending must exceed 25% of total wages. A deduction reduces taxable income; it does not return 30% of spending in cash. Checking these conditions helps you judge which recorded receipts can count toward the deduction.

A check for receipts received earlier

If you received receipts before registering, separate two checks: whether a receipt was issued and whether it appears under the registered number. Earlier receipts issued with that same number can be included. Registration cannot create an unissued receipt or automatically correct a previous year's tax settlement.

Who needs a separate eligibility check

This spending deduction applies to people with employment income. If you have only business income, check whether business-related spending qualifies as a necessary expense. A receipt appearing in the history does not by itself establish deduction eligibility, and the relevant tax year's deduction limit still applies.

Other registration questions

Does a Hometax account complete phone registration?

Account signup alone is not confirmation. Check which phone number is recorded in the cash receipt issuance management menu.

What changes after switching phone numbers?

Update the registered issuance number in Hometax, then check for transactions linked to both the previous and replacement numbers.

Can a receipt be issued without sharing a phone number?

A dedicated cash receipt card or Sontax mobile card can be used instead. At the store, the mobile card's barcode is scanned.

You can log in to Hometax and check the registered number against the one used when paying. Follow the registration steps in the original article on Injoys.
