USDC Deposit Verification 2026 Checklist

A middle-aged man carefully reviews tablet and smartphone screens at a sunlit table at home.

A transaction hash alone does not prove you received a bounty payment, a reward for a specified task. Confirm a transfer of official USDC on the agreed chain, with the correct recipient and amount, then check transaction success and block finality separately.

Check receipt before marking work as paid

Start with the payment agreement and the receiving wallet address. For an exchange, use its deposit screen and check supported networks. Match the token contract against Circle's list, then inspect the transaction in that chain's explorer, a tool for reading public transaction records. Compare the recipient and amount in the Transfer event. A successful transaction still needs a finality check, confirmation that its block is final under the network's rules. These public checks require no wallet connection or signature.

What the USDC verification guide adds

In the original article on Injoys, you can find contract addresses, a field-by-field checklist and developer steps for checking finality when the explorer leaves it unclear. Its synthetic 100 USDC example separates evidence of receipt from evidence that the payment belongs to a particular job.

Keep work approval separate from payment

If you have an approved task but no verified receipt, keep payment unconfirmed. Funds in escrow, a separate holding address, have not yet reached the receiving wallet. An ERC-20 Approval only grants permission to use tokens.

A useful tracking sequence is: work approved, transfer verified, finality checked, payment linked to the job. Leave any unchecked stage pending rather than treating task approval as payment.

Check the network and receiving service

The guide covers Circle-issued USDC on Ethereum Mainnet and Base Mainnet, with documentation checked on October 23, 2026. Mainnets carry assets with real value; Sepolia testnet tokens do not count as actual payment.

If you use the same recipient address on both networks, keep their records separate. An Ethereum deposit does not automatically increase a Base balance.

Common verification questions

Which chain IDs identify Ethereum and Base?

Ethereum Mainnet uses 1, and Base Mainnet uses 8453. Their eth_chainId responses are 0x1 and 0x2105, respectively.

Why does a 100 USDC transfer show 100000000?

The listed USDC contracts use 6 decimal places: 100,000,000 divided by 1,000,000 equals 100 USDC. Do not divide again if the explorer already displays the converted amount.

How can duplicate deposit entries be avoided?

Record the chain ID, txHash and logIndex together. Count each event once across lookup sources, and check whether the deposit was already assigned to another task.

Start with the agreed payment terms

Check the agreed network and token amount, then copy the receiving address from the wallet or service. Follow the checklist in the original article on Injoys, keeping unresolved checks pending.
